When on vacation, sometimes it’s hard to get around town without spending hundreds of dollars on taxis, Ubers, Lyfts, or rental cars. Luckily, our island is only eight square miles, so getting around Key West is never too difficult. Many people in Key West don’t even have a car, so by using these alternatives, you might pass as a local. Whether you want to do the pedaling yourself or you’d rather hop on a bus, here is your guide to Key West transit during your stay here at The Paradise Inn

Moped

Mopeds, otherwise known as scooters, are a perfect way to zip through town. Renting scooters in Key West Florida has never been easier with a plethora of rental companies such as Sunshine Scooters Inc., for a two-seater at $45 a day. Florida law does not require that you wear a helmet, but we recommend that you play it safe rather than sorry. Rent from Pirate Scooter Rentals, HydroThunder, Blue Sky Rentals, or Sunshine Scooters Inc.

Jeep

What better way is there to get around our little slice of paradise than with the wind through your hair, your hands on the steering wheel and your foot to the pedal? Thanks to our partnership with Key West Adventures, getting your hands on a Jeep is easier than ever. Jeeps are available through the company within many different time slots, whether you want to reserve one for a day trip, a date night, multiple days, or even just three hours at a time. If you’re feeling a little fancier, opt for the Moke; and if you’re feeling sportier, opt for the Polaris Slingshot.

Golf Carts

For a more leisurely drive, rent a golf cart. They can be used on streets with a speed limit of 35 or less, so keep that in mind when you choose this for your Key West transit. Rent from Sunshine Scooters Inc., Pirate Scooter Rentals, or HydroThunder

Key West Public Transportation

As Duval Street is one of the most popular destinations in Key West, the Duval Loop Key West free bus has arrived. It runs every 15-30 minutes depending on the time of day, with 16 stops around Old Town. If you need to go elsewhere, Key West public transportation offers paid bus routes like the Green, Blue, Red, and Orange lines for your convenience.
