While Key West might be small in size, it is jam-packed with as many activities and attractions as you’d find in larger destinations. Located just steps away from popular Duval Street, The Paradise Inn is close to everything you need for your getaway. The best way to discover what makes this island so special is simply by exploring. Go on a self-guided brewery tour or embark on a kayaking tour. To experience every side of Key West, wander around the distinct neighborhoods that make up the island.

What to Know about Key West’s Areas

Key West is only two miles by four miles, so it’s easy to explore on foot or by bicycle. These modes of transportation allow you to wander in and out of the shops and attractions you discover in the different neighborhoods and areas near our adults-only hotel.

Old Town

Old Town is one of the largest historic districts in the country. This means it is not only home to our hotel but countless historical attractions such as Hemingway House, Key West Lighthouse, and Mallory Square. Duval Street, known for its bars and nightlife, is also located here.

Bahama Village

Even though Old Town is known as the historic district, Bahama Village is the oldest neighborhood on the island. The 12-block area is where the first black Bahamian settlers called home when they arrived in the 19th century. Be sure to leave plenty of time to wander the Bahama Village Market.

Truman Annex

What was once the Truman Naval Station is now an upscale gated community. You can find the Little White House, where President Harry Truman spent his winters, Fort Zachary Taylor State Historic Park, and the Truman Waterfront

Other neighborhoods to explore include:

  • Historic Seaport, which used to be home to the island’s shrimping fleet
  • New Town, where nearly 75% of residents live and where to find non-tourist related enterprises
  • Casa Marina Area, home to Higgs Beach and White Street Pier

Talk with our knowledgeable and helpful front desk staff for more information about these areas.
